Rachel Scott
Meet Rachel: YYOGA Power, Flow, Hatha, Yin, Restorative, Core, Meditation, TRX and Yin teacher. Rachel was the lead teacher trainer for YYOGA's teacher training school for many years.
Rachel’s enthusiasm for anatomy and alignment is matched by a devilish sense of humour, general mischievousness, and passion for good coffee. A teacher's teacher and education nerd, she has personally taught more than 20 teacher trainings and now helps studios and teachers around the world create exceptional education. A bit of a renaissance woman, Rachel earned her BA from Columbia University, MFA from the American Conservatory Theatre and Masters of Science in Instructional Systems and Learning Technology from FSU. Keen to apply yoga to everyday life, she has also written two books: Wit and Wisdom from the Yoga Mat and Head Over Heels: a Yogi's Guide to Dating.
Why did you begin practicing yoga?
I was a stressed out New Yorker and someone told me to get my head on straight.
Where do you gain inspiration from?
My own practice and daily life challenges.
How do you wish your students to feel when they complete your class?
Embodied, elevated, human.
How has yoga impacted your life?
It keeps me grounded in reality and the present moment when my mind is a carnival ride.
