Katherine's passion for running has inspired her to create this class for opening up tight hips. Whether you're a runner, if you sit at a desk all day or if it's been a while since you did a hip focused class, this gentle practice will leave you feeling open and expansive.
When the hips are open we can feel a larger range of motion in our body. This allows for better circulation and more support for the muscles of the back and the spine.
Katherine allows you to hold each position for a duration of time so you can really feel the deep stretch in every move. She also presents opportunities to go deeper into the pose for those of you who are a little more flexible.
Starting off you'll be laying on your back for thread the needle and happy baby. The class also moves you through several twists, pigeon, standing figure four and eagle.
This class uses a yoga mat and yoga blocks. If you don't have blocks at home, you can use a stiff pillow, a stack of books or anything similar you have around your home that is stable and supports you in the same way.
