Staying calm in the midst of intensity is a skill that takes practice. This class invites you to exercise, just that, through a series of challenging poses. Jasmina reminds you to focus on your breath even in the tough moments and brings an element of calm when things get fiery. YYOGA Power is usually practiced in a room that is heated at 32 degrees, however, this is not mandatory or necessary to get the most out of this class.
Jasmina, our YYOGA teacher trainer, starts the class by asking you to humble yourself to the practice. Throughout the 60 minutes, she focuses on form and ensures you're working on the strength of each muscle group. Expect long holds in poses such as half-moon balance and warrior two with a beautiful relaxing stretch sequence to cool down. Jasmina offers modifications and reminds us that it's not about the depth of the shape or how long you can hold a pose, yoga is defined as a restraint of the fluctuations of the mind.
At the end, extend your rest pose as long as you feel your body needs!
This class uses a yoga mat and yoga blocks. If you don't have blocks at home, you can use a stiff pillow, a stack of books or anything similar you have around your home that is stable and supports you in the same way.
